SAS International team receives the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme accreditation

SAS International’s in house Project Management team has recently been accredited to the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). A scheme that has industry-wide recognition, CHAS recognises conformance to a high standard of Health and Safety compliance; an increasingly important focus throughout the building sector.
This is also a significant achievement as the Scheme is becoming a prerequisite for many contractors’ pre-qualification assessments. Clients can be assured that SAS International meets CHAS standards, and the accreditation also helps reduce the lengthy and time-consuming process of assessments for Health and Safety Competence.
SAS Project Management is the specialist, design-led installation division of SAS International; the team undertakes complex projects through concept, design and installation. This reduces risk and enables projects to be managed from original design inception through to final fit-out by a dedicated SAS International resource. The projects undertaken include bespoke ceilings, chilled ceilings, chilled beams and architectural metalwork for interiors, to technically challenging solutions for large-scale transport infrastructure schemes.
Currently SAS Project Management is working on site at London’s new Blackfriars railway station and at the Westfield shopping centre development at Stratford, close to the Olympic Stadium for the London 2012 Games.
Steve Burlton, Contracts Director for SAS Project Management commented “we are delighted with the CHAS accreditation at SAS International both as a supplier, and through SAS Project Management’s role as a contractor. Clients both in the public and private sector can rest assured that we meet the stringent demands of this important industry standard.”
